Paperweight · Brick Mode
Effective June 19, 2026
Paperweight is built to be private. It does not collect, store, or transmit any personal information.
Nothing. There is no account, no sign-in, no analytics, no advertising, and no tracking of any kind.
Your settings — the schedule, which apps you restrict, hashed recovery codes, and your NFC token's identifier — are stored only on your iPhone (and in a private app group shared with Paperweight's on-device Screen Time monitor). This information never leaves your device and is never sent to us or anyone else.
App restrictions are enforced locally using Apple's Screen Time features (Family Controls, ManagedSettings, and DeviceActivity). The apps you choose to restrict are represented by opaque tokens that the app itself cannot read as names, and that never leave your device.
Paperweight works fully offline. The only network request it may make is to fetch a small configuration file over HTTPS (for example, the "where to buy a token" links). This request contains no personal data and creates no profile of you.
Paperweight is not directed at children and collects no data from anyone, including children.
If this policy ever changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
